Searching

With GANT, you may search the genomic, transcript, and protein sequence of the gene.

Start by selecting "Find Sequence..." from the "Search" menu:

You will then see the following search window appear:

Choose your coordinate system:

• Genomic - search the entire genomic nucleotide sequence including exons, introns, and flanking sequence
• Transcript - search only the nucleotide sequence that is part of an exon (this search will span exon boundaries!)
• Protein - search the protein sequence

NOTE: When searching genomic sequence, do not use "U" in your search string, always use "T" instead. Only sequence characters are allowed at this time (no extra characters that would be part of a FASTA header for example). White spaces such as spaces and new lines are ignored.

To perform the search, click "Find Next".
