GANT is an extensible software application that uses plugins which enable GANT to interact with new sources of data. By default, GANT is packaged with at least one genomic plugin (for gathering gene structure data) and one annotation plugin (for gathering gene-related annotation). You may choose to download and install additional plugins to expand GANT's knowledge of available data sources.
To begin, visit http://bioneos.com/products/gant/plugins/. There you will see a list of available genomic and annotation plugins to download and install. Simply follow the instructions on that page to complete the installation, then restart GANT to begin utilizing the new data sources.
NOTE: It is important when downloading plugins and drivers for GANT to choose the "Save to Disk" option, rather than the "Open with Java" option. That is because these files are not meant to be ran independently, but need to be part of the GANT application directory to be useful.
